Life is hectic for men today, especially in the corporate world. With life style diseases fast catching up with age, staying fit has assumed utmost importance. Here are a few asanas that will help.
Paschimothanasana: Sit with legs stretched in front of you. Stretch lower back and raise both the arms. Inhale and bring your hands down to your feet. Go back while exhaling. It is helpful for the hamstring and the spine.
Padmasana: Sit down on the floor with legs stretched out in front. Take the right leg and place it over your left thigh. Then take the left leg and place it over the right thigh. Place both hands facing upwards in the center. Initially, it will be difficult to do this but gradually it will be okay; till then do only as much your body allows. And now put all your focus on your breathing system. This helps in maintaining a good posture and helps improving concentration.
Tadasana: Stand with your feet in line with your hips. Arms hang alongside the body with palms facing in towards the body. With the feet firmly on the floor, draw your quadriceps upwards. Look straight ahead and focus at a spot in front of you. Remain motionless. This will improve posture, reduce back pain and strengthen thighs.
Bakasana: Squat on the floor. Place your hands on the ground in front of you. Then lift your feet off the floor, while balancing your body on your hands. Inhale and exhale quietly. Focus on the floor area in front of you. It’s a very good back exercise and helps maintain balance and power.
