Music has been one of the modes for entertainment and spiritualism in India, however now there has come forward a more beneficial use of music. Music to cure mental and physical problems is called Healing music. It is difficult to determine the origin or founder of healing music. Since a few decades, global awareness on healing music has begun. But not many people know that in ancient Indian temples it has been a long time practice to work on music with the right notes and help people recover fast.
They understood that a human body reacts positively to certain sounds of music and hence can be very useful in making a person feel better. Even today, we can find in some Indian temples, chanting of Vedas in a specific tune to invite positive energy in and around the temple. Likewise, for attracting positive energy in and around the body, some special music is played that helps the person concerned. This can also be called as Music Therapy.
Healing music can be played using a single musical instrument like Sitar, Flute or it can be played using more than one instrument. The music played for healing is more of soft music. This helps a lot, if played before going to bed or early in the morning.
As this type of healing is showing good results, its getting more popular and advanced research is being done on different types of music that has the power to heal. Musicians in the rest of the world too prefer using traditional musical instruments than the modern ones.
