
Many a times, we do not pay attention to the minute things. Look around a little bit in all directions in your bed room. If some clothes are lying on your bed, then clean up the bed. If the inward and outward flow of air in room is less, if there is some problem in breathing fresh air, then open the windows. If bad smell is coming from anywhere, if somebody in the family is talking loudly, then find a solution to all these things. One cannot sleep even when one has eaten too much in dinner. One might have taken too much tea or coffee before sleeping. Such petty things have a direct relation with sleep.
In normal circumstances, when our body is tired, our strength gets diminished. Our muscles become loose. Heart beats get slower. Blood pressure gets lower. Temperature of body also goes down. In this situation, we do not have strength to remain in a standing position. Body does not remain in a position to work. Body itself goes to sleep in bed and the eyes get closed.
All these are symptoms of deep and sound sleep. Scientists call this type of sleep as ‘Name sleep’. Opposite to it is the abnormal position of ‘Remsleep’, in which a person is lying in bed but his body is changing positions in both directions. He gets annoyed even by slight light or little noise. He gets awake and then sits. Scientists believe that when a person goes to sleep as soon as he drops in bed, from a physiological view point, it is good but there are also many persons who go to sleep after long time after dropping in bed; but when they sleep, they get very good sleep. Such sleep is not a subject of worry, but it a habit. But when at the time of sleep, one is not able to go to sleep, it is a dangerous situation. This situation is called sleeplessness. Such a situation calls for a thinking. One should try to find the reasons of sleeplessness in youth. Some problem in heart, fever, mental stress, physical problem, difficulties, a wound, positive or negative excitement, worry, high blood pressure, stress of muscles, infection, there can be any problem. As regards worry, tension, etc it is always beneficial to talk to someone with an open heart. For that purpose, you can even talk to your family doctor or you can even tell your deepest feelings to a psychologist. Mental worries are reduced to their half even just by telling them to any one. If one is not able to sleep even if there are no problems, then walk 15-20 rounds. You can even walk in your room. Fresh air is more beneficial. Wash legs, hands and face with warm water. Massage your legs with light hand. Spread open your hair and massage your head with light fingers. Increase of blood circulation will lead to keeping mind and heart fresh. One will be able to go to sleep. Check out, have you suppressed any of your wishes to eat or drink ? Are you hungry ? If yes, then eat something with warm milk or coffee. This will calm your mind. If you do not wish to eat, then read some book. It will definitely bring you sleep.
